(Here's the alternate ending, slightly more depressing)
"No wait, I was trying to save the hostages, the hostages not the building the hostages" Greg tried to explain but they already left. Greg looked at the people he had killed in cold blood and collapsed to his knees in guilt. Could he live with this? Did he have a choice? He lifted his gun from the ground and examined it. There was one bullet left, just enough. As Michael and Powers walked away they heard a sickening bang that echoed through the halls.
Later that week Mark Thompson bought a paper from a newsstand and began to cry as saw the front page:
FOUR DIE AT GLOBAL TECH
Two days ago at the Global Tech office, a fire was started by unknown causes killed four security officers including newly appointed Chief Greg Thompson an ex-cop, when they where locked in with the fire by emergency doors. The room they where in was full of electronics that helped spread the fire. Their bodies could not be recovered due to the length of exposure to flames. Officials plan to change the design of the doors to have emergency release locks. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims.
